Esperando la hora del rescate

Harold Camping

Awaiting the Hour of Rescue
Almost every mythological tradition and religion in the world maintain a belief that the human race was created by beings or deities from the “heavens” and recorded their visits with them with stone carvings. Likewise, the ancient Israelites and Chtristians left thousands of manuscripts with their own history of contact. The traditions vary greatly but the majority continue with the expectation that they will return in one form or another.

The people who were waiting for the return of Jesus Christ on May 21 looked to the sky anxiously awaiting such an event based on the predictions of the pastor and radio broadcaster Harold Camping. This group awaited a worldwide earthquake and the subsequent return of Jesus to carry Christians to heaven. Although many Christians and athiests alike felt the predictions were improbable (even heretical), the fundamental belief that Jesus will return is shared by all Christians.

Lets take an objective look at this belief. Is it really that strange? After all, the majority of people including NASA and the Catholic Church believe in the probable existence of extraterrestrials and by definition this includes God, angels and demons because they are not from this planet. It’s worth mentioning that even those who don’t profess a belief in the divine or spiritual still have a tendency to look skyward in hopes of catching a glimpse of something not from this word. The frequency of UFO reports and other testimony confirm this expectation and supports the case that we are not alone.

Recognizing this, perhaps it isn’t so strange to believe that if our planet were on the verge of a fatal cataclysm, it’s possible (and preferable) that some type of evacuation would be initiated by the supreme leader of an all-powerful, transdimensional race of benevolent beings. In my view, it also makes sense that some criteria would be established to decide who would be rescued and who would be left behind. In all seriousness, I see this as exactly the case. I believe that the planet will be destroyed in order to eliminate the presence of another powerful group of evil extraterrestrials. I know you’re expecting some mention of Yoda and the force here in a moment but stay with me here. Unfortunately, throughout the development of human civilization, there have been people who have sided with the the bad guys and ignored the guidance from our benefactors which is the ticket to “the next level” and avoiding the same fate as their enemies.

Of course if you believe in neither God nor extraterrestrials then I sound just as crazy as Camping and you may be right. But I can guarantee that ancient cultures on every continent didn’t make the effort to carve pictures of their “sky gods” into stone so that you’d have a good laugh at their primitive beliefs. It was a matter of record to them. Nor would hundreds of Christians have risked their lives to copy and distribute the gospel accounts or allow themselves to be executed if they believed that were alone in the universe and that nobody was coming back to get us one day. With all that said, keep looking skyward!
