In a special live, acoustic performance, Becky Buller and Nate Lee will appear at Bird Song Studio in Woodbury on Saturday, May 19.
Buller made bluegrass music history in 2016 by becoming the first artist ever to win in both instrumental and vocal categories at the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) awards.
In 2017, Buller and her bluegrass band recorded a video for her song “Speakin’ to That Mountain” at Bird Song Studio. Now, the dynamic artist and her mandolin-toting friend, Nate Lee, return for an evening of acoustic music.
Buller’s songs were being recorded by some of the industry’s best, prior to the fiery-haired Minnesota native’s rise to prominence as an artist in her own right. The likes of Ricky Skaggs (“Music to My Ears”), Rhonda Vincent (“Fishers of Men”), Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver (“Be Living”), Josh Williams (“You Love Me Today”), Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out (“My Angeline,” “Rest My Weary Feet,” “Cottontown”) and The Infamous Stringdusters (“Freedom”) have all recorded songs by Buller.
Buller’s fourth solo album, Crepe Paper Heart, was released in early 2018 on the Dark Shadow Recording label. Buller is also featured on three albums from the award-winning Daughters of Bluegrass.
Nate Lee, an IBMA award-winning instrumentalist himself and a renowned teacher of private lessons and music camps, will accompany Becky on May 19 at Bird Song Studio. Lee toured with the Alan Munde Gazette for six years and played fiddle on the band’s second release, Made To Last. Lee has also toured with Irene Kelley, Town Mountain and the Jim Hurst Trio.
