Machine guns?! In Murfreesboro? You bet.

Of course On Target Shooting Range, located at 915 N. Thompson Lane, offers more guns than that for sale and rent, but considering machine guns are not something you find on the everyday market, it makes the idea of shooting one that much more extreme.

For the first time in my life I got to experience shooting a very powerful handgun. Personally, I had not been a big fan of guns, but after being at the shooting range I am now much more comfortable with them. The guns themselves are amazing, and the feeling of shooting one is like no other.

The Pulse crew was able to experience an exhilarating hour of hardcore handgun shooting. We were able to pick our weapons. I picked the Glock . . . what a gun!

Training coordinator Ronnie Ralston gave us the proper training and preparation with ear and eye protection before we were actually given any guns or ammunition.

In the past I have shot a few different types of rifles, but shooting a hand gun was surprisingly exciting too, even though I was off target most of the time! (Hey, I can’t be perfect at everything . . . )

As for Natalie, now she was impressive. She wasn’t even that experienced, yet she didn’t just shoot a hand gun, but one of the very large and powerful machine guns.

Afterward she said excitedly, “I thought I was gonna fall back into the floor, but it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. Definitely worth it!” She made hitting targets look easy?kind of like myself with karate moves!

On Target’s friendly atmosphere, well-trained staff and abundance of of ammo makes it a fun place to spend an afternoon. If you’re looking for an unconventional date, you’ve hit the bull’s eye.
