Legendary Duo Performs at Bluesboro

Longtime collaborators David Rawlings and Gillian Welch performed before a captivated audience at the Bluesboro on Monday, Nov. 20, using only their voices and an acoustic guitar apiece.

Welch’s voice seems even more angelic when accompanied by Rawlings’ soulful picking and his own very capable vocals.

A host of artists have performed songs written by Welch and likewise she has lent her voice to many compilations, including the Grammy-winning O Brother, Where Art Though? soundtrack. She has four records of her own, the latest two produced by Rawlings and the first two produced by T-Bone Burnett.
Rawlings has earned some recent notoriety with the production of Old Crow Medicine Show’s latest CD Big Iron World.

Welch and Rawlings will perform again Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Station Inn in Nashville.
