Living Free on the Fourth: Murfreesboro comes together for first ever Freedom Bash

A slew of Murfreesboro-based bands joined forces this July 4 to celebrate free expression as they performed their art at the Boro Bar and Grill. From The Last Straw covering “Get up, stand up” by Bob Marley to Los Cobra’s rendition of P.J. Harvey’s “Freedom” to Taxi Driver paying homage to the patriotism of Rage Against the Machine with their “Freedom,” the show rocked all day long.

Hundreds lined the streets and filled the parking lot as dark fell and fireworks ascended above MTSU. Dee Adams, vocalist for super-funky and smooth SkyHi, belted out the national anthem acapella in perfect timing. Until next year, stay free.
