It was an extreme contrast to the first NASCAR Busch Series race that rolled through Nashville Superspeedway this year as far as the weather was concerned?although, the winner was the same.
Yes, Carl Edwards won the Federated Auto Parts 300, making it his fifth career victory at Nashville Superspeedway. Unlike the cold Busch race earlier in the year, this race was hot and muggy, which makes for a great time to watch 40 cars duke it out at a hundred and seventy, creating a breeze for the fans.
Carl Edwards has found a place where he knows what it takes to win and does so.
“Nashville has the greatest trophy in NASCAR,” he said in the post race interview. “I love coming to Nashville and racing.”
Since the Nextel series was in Pennsylvania, Edwards about missed the race due to bad weather and airplane delays, but he made it just in time for the start.
With a superspeedway right up the road from Murfreesboro, it’s almost foolish not to go and experience what racing has to offer. Pack a cooler, bring a grill, and tailgate until the race begins; then head inside and enjoy the race from a shaded seat in the grand stands.
If you feel like going closer, you can hop on the free shuttle which takes you to the pits, where you are able to see in the pits and garage areas. Also, since the track is in Middle Tennessee and Nashville is the country music capital of the world, you’re guaranteed to hear great music by the best in the business when it comes to entertainment.
The next chance to check out a race at the track is the Firestone Indy 200 Indycar Series Race on Saturday, July 14.
