Often when you go out to a bar the music is loud and intrusive. Not so on Wednesday nights at Chef Raymond’s.
Beginning at 7 p.m., Bob Teesdale, a talented pianist and singer, plays soft jazz piano and accepts any oldies requests you may have. From Jerry Lee Lewis to James Taylor to Elton John, Teesdale plays and sings in the background as you enjoy your favorite cocktail around an intimate bar set up around his keyboard.
The lights are dim and the setting is soft. It’s not crowded and is a good place to go “chill-out” and unwind after a day of hustle and bustle.
Unfortunately the drinks are sometimes so weak you could drink a dozen a still be “cool to drive.”
My recommendation: order the beer, in a bottle. That way you know you are paying for alcohol and not 10 trips to the bathroom.
Drinks aside, Teesdale sounds great and adds to the ambiance. He reminds us of a bygone era when one man could entertain and relax even the most fast paced of people.
