Dear Readers:
The race for the Arctic is on.
With five nations, the U.S., Canada, Russia, Denmark and Norway holding territory within the Arctic Circle, these nations are looking to extend their reach.
It’s easier to get up to Santa’s hood now with increasing global temperatures, some boats can cut right through.
But it’s not the rich walrus fat the superpowers of the Northern Hemisphere want to seize?there’s oil in them there icecaps. Some estimate as much as 25 percent of the earth’s oil is deposited far below the seas of the Arctic Circle. This huge amount of oil, if collected and released into the international market, could render the current disastrous U.S. war for oil useless.
But already, the Arctic region around the North Pole has become Russian territory. Yes, simply placing a flag on a piece of land, or underwater in this case, does indeed make that part of your country, certainly in the eyes of The Murfreesboro Pulse. Therefore, the moon is our country, as claimed by Neil Armstrong.
Look for a lunar Wal-Mart on the 51st state soon.
Just remember not to blow up the moon when constructing those giant housing developments, as in The Time Machine.
With the recent College Cost Reduction Act signed into law, a great deal of funding will go into federal student aid. This measure also provides funding for those going long-term into the military, law enforcement and paramedics to attend college.
Which brings up the question: “Why should taxpayers be paying for police officers and firefighters to go to universities, when they would probably benefit more in their professions with specialized training courses?”
Though after thinking about it, the thought of cops on the street with college degrees does sound like a better situation.
Special thanks to Jared Micah for reading the entirety of a review of his latest record published in The Pulse at a recent show. We need the support of local artists to keep doing what we do. Send us your recordings and we’ll check out your stuff, and maybe select your music for the upcoming Pulse compilation.
A note to all with vehicles for sale: I’m in the market. Give me a call, make me a deal. While many merchants prefer to deal in something more liquid than space in The Pulse, you will see how valuable it is. Which would you rather have?my cash or me, and The Pulse, helping you sell 50 of your other cars?
Until next time, this is your friendly neighborhood editor, doing what I do and living the American dream.
Peace,
Bracken Mayo, Editor in Chief
