Curves brings LaVergne, Smyrna and Murfreesboro women a supportive environment, offering a thirty-minute fitness program.
The business, and its online resource curvescomplete.com, is based on Gary Heavin’s bestselling book “Curves, Permanent Results Without Permanent Dieting.” Heavin and his wife, Diane, are considered the innovators of the express fitness phenomenon, now available to millions of women worldwide.
Kathy Bryant, a member of the LaVergne Curves, has lost over 60 pounds on the program and said she has been happier and healthier since she joined three years ago.
“At the age of 49, when most people are content with themselves, I was not. I was tired, overweight, depressed and miserable. I finally found the courage to walk into Curves and attempt to change my life,” Bryant said. “This was the best thing I have ever done for myself.
“I look forward to my Curves workouts at least three days a week and owe my success to the upbeat music, the encouraging attitudes of the staff and the wonderful new friends I have made.”
Owners of the Rutherford County locations, Tracy Singel, Anna Fitzhugh and Karyn Thompson, said they love helping women in the community both physically and emotionally.
“We have seen so many members reach major milestones,” said Thompson, one of the owners of LaVergne Curves.
With the average person gaining three pounds a year, a reasonable workout regimen that can fit into today’s busy lifestyle of work and family is critical to help combat diabetes, osteoporosis, hypertension, heart disease and other health risks that women can face. Curves says its workout allows women of all ages and fitness levels to perform all of the components of a complete fitness program, combining strength and cardiovascular training through safe, effective hydraulic resistance.
With more than 10,000 locations in dozens of countries, Curves is the world’s largest fitness franchise. For more information and locations, visit curves.com.
