The second annual Taste of Stones River benefiting the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon counties will be serving up food and fun for the entire family later this month.
More than 40 local restaurants will participate in this year’s event, held from 12’5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Shops at Stones River.
Restaurants and catering vendors will provide the public with culinary samples and some signature fare from menus around the Murfreesboro area. Event-goers will be able to sample a wide variety of food from upscale restaurants such as The Chop House and Five Senses to area favorites like Hooters and Coconut Bay Caf’.
Live music performances from singer/songwriter Shannon Aplin, local acoustic band Red Letterbox and the Blackman High School Rock Band will be a part of the day, and the event will also feature activities for the kids including a moonwalk, face painting booth and cotton candy.
Tickets will be on sale at 12 p.m. the day of the event. The price per ticket is 50 cents each for adults and children to participate in tasting and children’s activities. Sponsors include Publix, Stones River Mall, Coca Cola and a number of local businesses.
