I love me some football and I love me some 5-0 Tennessee Titans. What about the play of Kerry Collins, after throwing not one, but two picks to the hard-hitting Baltimore defense? After all that adversity he still managed to lead the offense to an 80-yard game-winning drive that was full of good plays and one bad call that benefited the Titans.
The Colts have looked ugly all year; that high strung offense just hasn’t looked like the Manning-led team we all have loved to watch. But they sure did manage to beat down the Ravens this past Sunday. That’s one hell of a defensive unit that Manning might have had his coming out party against after a much needed bye week.
I genuinely want to tip my hat off to the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. Mr. Mike Smith and the 4-2 Falcons are on a roll and have already matched their win total from all of last season by Week 6. That’s definitely exceeding expectations, and rookie QB Matt Ryan is playing like a pro; I’m giving him my current vote for rookie of the year.
On that note, I have got two candidates for coach of the year. Don’t get me wrong, there are a good four more coaches that I would throw in the mix. Obviously Mike Smith and his job with the Falcons impress me. Mr. Jeff Fisher and his job with the undefeated Titans impress me also. Most ESPN, magazine and other sports writers didn’t expect the Titans to be in this spot undefeated. Most of them, prior to the season, didn’t even have them competing with the Colts and Jags in their own division, let alone leading the way in the power rankings.
Some final comments, Cowboys: no Tony for a month; Brad Johnson’s OK, we might see Jerry Jones come out and play quarterback. Kurt Warner and the Cardinals are playing ball baby, fresh off wins against the Bills and Cowboys and 4-2. And the Redskins losing to the Rams? “what?”
Alright people, peace out and get ready to jump aboard the Z-Train and ride dirty with me and the Titans all the way to the Super Bowl!
