For a band forming in 2001, Philadelphia’s Zelazowa has had quite a ride and it doesn’t look to be ending soon.
The four-piece alternative rock band is bringing their own brand of music to Murfreesboro, playing alongside Los Cobra and 44 Vegas Nov. 15 at the Boro Bar and Grill.
This tour stop is one of the many the band is making this fall, not surprising, seeing as the band performed 220 shows in 2006 alone. The audiences that Zelazowa is reaching is constantly expanding as they tour, seeing as they have covered the east coast and Midwest of the United States, along with playing in 10 other countries.
And since no good touring band should be without a record, Zelazowa worked with Grammy-winning producer John Seymour on their second release, the EP Polymorph. The band even stuck to their “do-it-yourself” attitude and independently released a music video for the song “1000 Smiles” from the EP.
Besides making their music video, Zelazowa spent quite a bit of time in front of cameras, being the subject of a recently released documentary film. The band was picked by Ship King Media, who took notice to their rigorous touring schedule. The company’s website explains part of the reason for choosing the band, seeing as they are “the only independent touring rock band in the world to average over 200 shows per year with no record contract, and no corporate sponsorship.”
