Welcome to 527 Main St. for another two evenings of exceptional bands! The kickoff weekend was freakin’ fantastic with a great turnout that is assumed to have something to do with the actual bands (plus all the great deals at the venue for consumable products making everyone feel fancy . . .). Come experience more of what Murfreesboro has to offer. Rollo Greb, Ethan Swim and the Royce Sept. 19 and Pink Spiders, The Compromise and Anathens Sept. 26.
Ethan Swim
Sounds Like: Muse meets a mellow Ben Folds
Stomping Grounds: Nashville
Footsteps: Muse, Sunny Day Real Estate, Indie vibes
Members: Bobby Holland – Vocals/Guitar/Keys, Louis Keller – Bass/Background Vocals, Charlie Blevins – Drums/Background Vocals
Flavor: Intense buildups and quirky roundups make for an unexpected explosion of melodies and flowy guitar. With heartfelt vocalism, bulbous bass tones, creeping keys (bom bom bom bom) and cool effects, you are sure to find something in this band and possibly even yourself that you didn’t know could be there. Get their 2007 release, Fleeting.

Footsteps: ’90s Alternative/Grunge and Hip-Hop, Electronica and Reggae
Members: Paul Jenkins – Vocals/Guitar, Jaux King – Guitar/Vocals, Jon Sutherland – Bass, Casey Kinnan – Drums
Flavor: Pretty sweet guitar; hair-raising, deep and sexy vocals . . . how deep are those lungs? Violin effects, what? Hair-slinging, arm-flailing, body-smoothin’ and smitten-bit, these guys write a few of those theme songs you wanted to be playing when you walk into a room. With strong warriors for backup vocals, and knowing that “you don’t have to dream alone tonight . . .” let them show you that it is better to know than to not know. They have been on 102.9 The Buzz and MTV. Sweet.
