The Murfreesboro/ Rutherford County Center for the Arts presents “Big River, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” Aug. 7 – 23.
“Big River” is based on Mark Twain’s classic antebellum story, and it features music and lyrics, a mix of gospel, folk, country and blues, by Grammy award winner Roger Miller.
The show is directed by Cyndie Verbeten and stars J.P. Clardy as Huckleberry Finn and Michael McGee as Jim.
This classic ride down the Mississippi River plays at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays.

MLT Presents Awards
The annual Murfreesboro Little Theatre Banquet & Awards Show will be Saturday, Aug. 8, beginning at 5 p.m. with dinner and concluding with the presentation of the 2009 – 10 Board of Directors and the show productions for the coming season.
The fanfare and gala event is always not only awarding but rewarding, and awards will be given in these categories: Best Production (Director), Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Actress in a Leading Role Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Actress in a Supporting Role, Best Actor in a Minor Role, Best Actress in a Minor Role, Costume Design, Lighting Design, Set Design
The winners will be announced in the Aug. 20 edition of The Murfreesboro Pulse.
