A cable network is seeking a local home that doesn’t quite blend in with the rest of the houses on its street. A television production company will bring in the plans, the team of experts and the supplies. What they are looking for from the community are neighbors willing to put in the elbow grease to make a real difference on their street and in their neighborhood.
To qualify, neighbors just need to look around to see a home that is in need of some serious time and money and a neighbor who could use some help. Perhaps the home has an unfinished remodel, chipped paint and dirty brick, sagging gutters and shutters, or has become a shrub jungle or a grassless wonder.
And just as important to the network is the story of the neighbor who needs the community’s help. Is the homeowner a retiree on a fixed income or a family who’s lost a job or has a parent who is overseas in the armed forces?
“What we’re looking for,” said Martin Fischer, President of High Five Entertainment, “is a neighborhood that wants to be part of a new television series, have some fun, help out a neighbor, and enhance everyone’s property value. This show is about how a community can join together to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others. We’ll bring in the experts, the plans, and the supplies. What we need is two days of elbow grease and work from the neighborhood.”
