Main Street Jazz Fest Here Again

Murfreesboro’s annual JazzFest hits the downtown square once again May 1 – 2. The event draws thousands of jazz fans and families for live music, food and activities for kids including a climbing wall and a collaborative painted mural. A variety of amateur and professional players will celebrate the inclusive American art form that emphasizes improvisation and technical chops. For more information, visit mainstreetjazzfest.com.

Jazz Guardians

58 U.S. Army soldiers are assigned to the Army Ground Forces Band, stationed at Ft. McPherson, Ga. The organization sends out smaller satellite ensembles including a rock band, brass quintet and, of course, an 18-member jazz ensemble, a.k.a. the Jazz Guardians.
