I’ve been watching the animals lately. It’s pretty entertaining. There’s plenty of wildlife to watch, even in town. You see the ants building their hills, squirrels trying to collect nuts, Canada Geese flying back up to the northland, and mockingbirds dive bombing and taunting little black bob-tailed cats, who think they’re ferocious hunters, but really rarely catch anything larger than a fly.
Sleeping so peacefully, I was awakened by a midnight kitty argument between lovers, one outside and one in.
They were meant to be?but one is trapped inside the house and has had her reproductive organs chopped out.
That may be for the better; I’m exhausted after eight-plus months of pregnancy, I can only imagine how the wife feels.
I’ve been liking the under-the-sea documentary programs lately also; there’s crazy stuff going on down there?the most fantastical, colorful beasts!
There’s crazy stuff going on up here in the human realm also.
We just celebrated Memorial Day, remembering those who have served their country, and I totally respect that. Those who join the military are generally well-intentioned, just wanting to protect their homeland and their families, and learn a skill or enhance their careers.
The leaders of this nation maneuver the world’s most powerful military to suit the interests of a particular group, to police the world, intervene in other wars, overthrow nations’ leaders, etc.
War has and will always exist.
But how do you reconcile love your neighbor and turn the other cheek with shock and awe?
Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other . . .
I really don’t get it, how is it justified for a country where the majority of inhabitants call themselves Christians to have such a violent and vengeful nature?
Nations must compete, but there’s such thing as healthy competition. Who really knows if the U.S. really still has the most technologically advanced military anymore, with all sorts of countries launching all sorts of things.
Everyone wants to go warp speed like
Star Trek.
Commercial space excursions are not that far off. Virgin Galactic will take passengers to the edge of space, out of the earth’s atmosphere, even for a period of weightlessness. Thousands have already registered, including William Shatner.
