The eighth annual Bonnaroo Music and Art Festival will return to its home on the farm just off I-24 in Manchester from June 11 – 14.
Each year the festival brings a world-class group of musicians spanning nearly every genre, as well as comedians and other entertainers.
The 2009 lineup includes The Mars Volta, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, moe., The Dillinger Escape Plan, Phish, Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails, Snoop Dogg, Merle Haggard, The Decemberists, Shadows Fall, Kaki King and many more, plus Murfreesboro-spawned artists such as The Features and Those Darlins.
The four-day event draws thousands of music fans to the camping community.

Lanae’ Hale’s Record Available Free
One of Christian music’s most heralded new artists, Lanae’ Hale, is gearing up for the release of her first full-length CD, Back & Forth.
From May 19 – 23, Centricity Music will offer free copies of Back & Forth to any consumer who makes a CD purchase of any artist that week in nearly 600 bookstores across the country.
“We believe that Lanae’s new CD, Back & Forth, is an amazing record that people will flip over when they hear it and, hopefully, they will be telling their friends about it,” says Steve Ford, vice president of sales and marketing for Centricity Music. “When someone said ?hey, why don’t we give it away for free’ we all laughed that uncomfortable laugh. Then we said, ?why not?’”

CMA Festival 2009
Top country music stars will converge in downtown Nashville for the 2009 Country Music Association Music Festival June 11 – 14.
Among the musical acts are Rascal Flatts, the winner of the CMA Vocal Group of the Year Award for the past six years, and Darius Rucker, former vocalist and songwriter for the pop group Hootie & The Blowfish, whose 1994 debut, Cracked Rear View, is one of the best-selling albums in history.
Other performers include Wynonna, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride and many more.
Single tickets to the individual nightly concerts at LP Field start at $30. Four-day ticket packages are also available and include the Nightly Concerts at LP Field, exclusive access to the Fan Fair Hall in the Nashville Convention Center, access to the Photo Lines at LP Field and Riverfront Park, access to the event shuttle between venues, admission to the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, and a registration bag with collectible pin and 2009 souvenir program book.
This year’s festival also boasts the addition of a new stage on the Public Square in front of the Nashville Courthouse and free access for the first time to the concerts at Riverfront Park. The park, located at the foot of Broadway on the banks of the Cumberland River, will host concerts from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. each day of the festival.
Each year, CMA donates half the net profits of the festival for music education in Metro Nashville Public Schools, via the Nashville Alliance for Public Education, through the Keep the Music Playing program. The 2008 donation was $1,011,294, which will buy instruments for 31 elementary, middle and high schools. The Nashville Alliance for Public Education will also be collecting “gently used” band instruments during the festival for students and music programs in need.
