The Old Timers Day Festival is a chance for new and old residents of La Vergne to come and celebrate the city and the citizens. Old Timers Day originated in the early ’70s and corresponded with the La Vergne High School homecoming.
Much like its origins, the festival has come to be known as a homecoming for those who grew up in the town to come back and revisit friends and family.
Angie Mayes has organized the event for 10 years and says she expects 22–25,000 people to attend this year’s show, held Saturday, Sept. 19.
In additing to the music and food, there will also be special areas for seniors and children, as well as a demonstrators’ area with quilters, sewers, blacksmiths and more.
This is a rain or shine event.
