A Great Matchup Set for Super Bowl XLIV

Mr. Manning is going for two.

Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, sexy MTSU women of the ‘Boro, I have missed all of you and sincerely apologize to all my loyal readers for the time I have taken off. Like the great inspiring Mr. King, I have also had a dream of greatness. Just as the king’s message was a touching phenomenal speech delivered straight to the point, both his and mine lie on top of an unbreakable foundation. Not in any way to take away from his vision, my vision comes from the depth of my heart, a heart that beats to the love of sports and people. I have had a dream that brings all variety of people, sports and their television sets together!

On Feb. 7, not only the United States, but many other countries across the world will feel the magic of a super Sunday. People like Micheal Vick and groups like PETA will set aside differences and unite to the clash of football. We will have Asians, blacks, whites, Jews, Muslims, Kurds, homosexuals, Mexicans, fat people, crackers, hood rats and strippers all together cheering and partying to the greatness of the best sport in the world.

So stock the beer my friends and prepare the burgers and pork chops, because a Peyton vs. Brees shootout is upon us. A dream of greatness people, beer, food, the two No. 1 seeds in football and if you’re a lucky man a pretty lady to refill your beer when you go empty.

So now that my dream has been put into words, let’s talk wildcard football and how we got to where we are today. I will start with the Cowgirls handling the Eagles 34-14 getting their first playoff victory since prior to me hitting puberty. So the Cinderella story of this year’s playoffs hands down goes to Sanchez, Big Boy Rex and the New York Jets. The defense shut down that punk receiver Mr. Ocho Cinco and routed the Bengals 24-14. Mr. Ray Lewis and the Ravens crew shut down pretty boy Tom Brady 33-14. The Patriots seem to be dropping off a bit; after a decade of domination, Brady’s got the rings, a fine wife and the stats of a hall of fame player. I just love it when he loses, which hasn’t been much in the past, so defensive players in the league, go for the knees baby!

The best game of the Wild Card weekend goes to the Packers and the Cardinals, totaling a mind-blowing 96 points, an NFL record for most points in a post-season game. Kurt Warner, a guaranteed first ballot hall of fame QB, improved his post-season record to 9-3 with a 51-45 victory over the fudge packers. That wraps up all the teams that squeaked into the playoffs baby!

So onto Divisional battles we go; New Orleans opened up with a 45-14 beat down over Arizona and maybe Warner’s last game. The Colts and the four-time MVP, and the greatest QB possibly of all time, handled the Ravens 20-3. The Minnesota Vikings and Brett Favre scored and scored and scored again on the cowgirls, beating them down 34-3. Dallas linebacker Keith Brooking stated it was classless and disrespectful of the Vikings scoring so many points and what he called running up the score. Maybe next year the old man Brooking will get a rematch and do what a defense is supposed to do, stop the offense from getting into the end zone. It’s the playoffs, no mercy baby, quit crying Keith, the Vikings dominated your team and like Herm said, “You play to win the game,” not show remorse for your poor play! The surprise game of the Divisional rounds goes to the Jets 17-14 victory against the Chargers out on the West Coast. Big boy Rex Ryan had that nasty defense ready to play ball, and the Chargers all-pro kicker was not ready, going 0-3 on field goals, the most accurate kicker in NFL history not getting it done in the post-season. Bad play from the Chargers, out-coached and stupid penalties on the Chargers behalf led to the biggest upset of this year’s playoffs.

So we go to the Conference title games, and the NFC championship game was all we could ask for as football fans. I wont say nothing more than I hate the overtime rule, HATE IT! It all comes down to a coin toss after a game of blood, sweat and tears, a coin typically decides it. Mr. Commissioner listen to the majority, the ones who make this the best game in the world, the fans. I think you know what we want, a rule more similar to college ball, let both quarterbacks touch the ball in O.T. Sudden death is not as exciting as it sounds; it’s nothing but sudden shit for the loser of the coin toss.

What a feeling it must have been for Hartley, the rookie, kicking a 40-yard field goal to send his team to the big game. Brett got beat up and played his heart out; that last interception shocked me and ultimately lost the game for the Vikings. I was rooting for the Vikings, but I enjoy the play and respect each of those teams. So congrats to “Who Dat;” Drew Brees and crew deserve the win and their first trip to the Super Bowl in the franchise’s history.

And sorry Jet nation, the better team won the game as the Colts defeated the Jets 30-17. The Jets created a stir in the media and started the game looking great, getting some hits on Peyton. I am not a fan of the Jets and they wouldn’t have matched up well with either NFC team if they would have won the game. Peyton vs. Brees is sexier and a better match up for the big game. So if Fireman Ed hasn’t committed suicide (sorry brother, keep your head up), it was a successful year for your team. The Jets improved and Sanchez got experience; they will be better next year, even though Jet nation is loud, obnoxious and smells of dirty tuna fish.

So two powerhouse offenses led by the two best quarterbacks in the NFL meet in Miami at Sun Life Stadium for a maybe the most intriguing Super Bowl. I am not going to break this one down, but I will give you my prediction: I am taking the Colts in a 31-24 victory over the Saints.

So everybody, the Train Daddy is rolling out of the station. Some quick statements: never again have the Pro-Bowl in Miami; Hawaii is intriguing and a reward for the best players to go to after a great year. The players already gave their thoughts on it, and they want Hawaii. Chris Johnson, you are a two-headed beast that farts lighting bolts, you quick little bastard, I love you! To my team, the Tennessee Titans, everyone knows I bleed for the Titans, the No. 1 fan out there. I live, breath and eat Titans football; I will be the crazy old man in the future that has been there since day one of Titans football. Fans like me are the reason football is so great, and a dedicated Titans fan like me will be the reason a Super Bowl victory is soon, and tradition that is 10 years young will be so strong and full of rich history by the time they put me in the ground. I love football, I love my Titans, and I love my mom, and I LOVE my loyal readers! Train’s rolling out of the station. CHOO, CHOO!
