The Doerfels will be performing at the Blue Rooster at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21. The young family band uses traditional bluegrass instrumentation and merges influences from country, rock, bluegrass and jazz to achieve its sound.
Made up of six siblings (the oldest being 21), they all sing and are multi-instrumentalists, using mandolin, guitar, violin, banjo, bass and percussion.
Kim, the group’s only female, often sings and adds a nice dynamic to the rest of the male vocals. This should be a quite enjoyable midweek show to catch.
Originally from upstate New York, the Doerfels are now based out of Ozark, Mo., and are touring all summer. On July 21, they’ll be making their way to the ‘Boro to rock out the Blue Rooster. To check out the Doerfels’ music, visit thedoerfels.com.
