Football in Heaven and a New Titans Season

Just like 2-Pac wondered if there was a ghetto in heaven, the Z-Train wonders if there is football in the afterlife. Everybody in heaven would appreciate a full season of football, and we all know the Gs in the ghetto would be down for a little pigskin. I wonder if God would be the commissioner, and if football would still be played on Sundays, would commissioner God strictly keep Sundays holy, or would he allow time for worship and then football?

All I know is that when my life here on earth is over, I pray that football is not. The Z-Train and all my homies living in heaven’s ghetto will be some tailgating fools, throwing down every Sunday to the best sport out there. Would we be allowed to bring beer to the occasion or would it not be allowed to drink at the football games in heaven? That’s something I am sure will have to go through football commissioner God, but hopefully he will be OK with a little drinking before the big game.

Heaven will be that much sweeter for all of us football fans if a system is in play that is rich in tradition and as exciting if not better than the NFL here in America. All I know is when I arrive, I hope that the team I will cheer for will have done their homework and picked up my man Steve McNair; R.I.P. my brother.

I know it’s early, but I know my people are ready for some Train Daddy Titans knowledge. I was only waiting on Chris Johnson’s decision to be in mini camp and Roger’s decision. Mr. Commissioner decided not to discipline Vince Young for getting rowdy at the bar, and Chris Johnson finally got his contract and will report to camp with the rest of the team. I am a bit sad though, I won’t get to see my man Keith Bullock on the defensive side or Kevin Mawae on the offensive side of the ball. The old veterans’ leadership will be missed and it will be up to one of the young cats on each side of the ball to show these rookies how things are done in Cashville. We need someone who will get in these kids’ faces when they step out of line, and someone to help create chemistry between the new players, and help create a solid team.

The 2009 season for the Titans was one of ups and downs. But in my opinion it was one of disappointment. Tennessee was coming off a 13-3 record from the previous year, and having squandered the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs, the team entered ’09 believing there was unfinished business. Instead of handling that business, the team was finished before the season ever really began, starting 0-6 before finishing strong at 8-8.

There were some good things along the way last season. Chris Johnson was a beast, and the best player many have seen in many years across the league. Johnson ran for 2,006 yards and set an NFL record from scrimmage with 2,509 yards. The re-emergence of Vince Young as a starting quarterback was also a huge step towards a better team as well. In my opinion Young’s resurgence was probably the most unlikely scenario that played out last season, given how far he had fallen the year before. After Young’s 2008 meltdown and injury in the opening game of that season, it looked doubtful for the QB, but for now the road is bright and hopefully the man’s got a few tricks up his sleeve for the team and ESPN top tens highlights. The man is exciting when he is playing to the best of his ability.

There were holes on the defensive side and on special teams that when coupled with injuries and age, doomed the Titans to the fifth .500 season in Jeff Fisher’s 15-year career. The defense made changes, and got younger, but it will be interesting to see how or if the new pieces fit into the puzzle.

So obviously I can’t wait until that pigskin is kicked off and the regular season is under way. I am a die hard, balls to the wall football fan that lives and breathes Titans football. It is fans like me and my crew that make it something special and more than just another game. It is people like my dawg Mr. Captain Mayo, and my boy Ball’s Balls Mr. Scottie Batson my homie Poop Daddy Johnnie Boy Garner, and Mr. Sleezy Young Jeezy Batson and myself, the Train Daddy bringing Pain Daddy! That is my crew and we ride hard to every Titans game and support our team at all times. Opposing team’s fans fear us and no Oakland Raiders fan, no Steelers fan, no Ravens fan, none of them want to step to my crew; they see the passion in our eyes. There is nothing better than a true sports fan, and I respect all fans out there no matter what team you cheer for. I am just saying when you see the Train Daddy and his crew, step aside!
