Everything’s Nice Productions Makes First Appearance on MTSU Campus with Strictly Dubstep Vol. 10

Liquid Stranger

Everything’s Nice Productions, headed by Christ Mironescu, brought the 10th volume of his Strictly Dubstep production to MTSU’s campus for the first time on Thursday, sealing another successful show for him and giving fans the need for more. It was a five-artist production featuring headliner Liquid Stranger and highly reputable local djs, Wick-It the Instigator, Beat Repeat, Axis and Kidsmeal.

Upon walking in the massive James Union Building, and checking out the stage as Axis started the set, it was obvious that this show had the trademark high production value Christ and Everything’s Nice is known for, even though the production’s creation took place only seven days prior to that moment.

“MTSU was cool enough to allow me to put this on a campus site with such short notice,” Christ said. “They were incredibly cooperative. I was very fortunate to have had complete creative control. They let me choose everything down to my lighting guy from Full Spectrum, which did an amazing job. Jason Huber, who served as the liason between myself and MTSU’s event staff, also played a giant part in the success.” He went on to say that without him, communication between parties and overall organization would have been a little different.

The show picked up speed with Murfreesboro’s own Beat Repeat, who was very happy to contribute to Everything’s Nice Production’s first-time appearance on campus.

“Everything’s Nice has been bringing the world’s biggest Dubstep artists to Nashville, and this show was at MTSU!” said Clint Chapman of Beat Repeat. “Anyone attending MTSU is for sure lucky to get into a show with an artist on Rottun Recordings [Excision, Datsik, Downlink] for only $5! The Everything’s Nice crew are great people, always throw awesome events and everyone has a good time.”

Kidsmeal followed, and by then the room was pretty full. The crowd was definitely ready, including the four or five college kids chewing on plastic straws in the front row. It was awesome to see. Duplicate projections of Kidsmeal showed on the backdrop behind him, circling around the whole three walls he was closest to. He got the crowd moving and prepared them for Wick-It. Even a photographer was all over him while he was on, capturing his hands while he flipped records and performed open heart surgery on the turntables.

Wick-It came on stage and a girl was already hanging over the guard railing screaming his name. The show at that point entered a new level. He is Thor in my eyes and rages with the hardest way possible. The way he interacts with the crowd combined with the powerful bass in his mixes elicit visions of thunder and lightening bolts coming straight from his hands. His massive use of bass seemed to shake the innermost core of the earth and threatened to bring down the JUB. He also did the dirtiest dub remix of Sir Mix-A-Lot I’ve ever heard.

Liquid Stranger definitely offered one last chance to encourage the fans to knock the floor out from where they stood. People went full power with their hula hoops, glowsticks and, well, the guys who started out in front during Kidsmeal with the plastic straws had no straws any more. There was a smoky haze over the whole room, which mixed well with the laser beams and the hands rising and falling in unison. The room by the end of the night smelled like bodies grinding and sweat dripping from raging so hard. Perfect. At that point, when I smelled that smell, I officially tagged it a success.

“This was a success, but keep in mind, Everything’s Nice is much more than a production company,” Christ said. “It is a way of thinking, a way to utilize people’s talent. It is about the production value being stellar, but most importantly is a legitimate show where everyone is brought together to have a great time.”

He went on to say that these shows are extremely well thought out and require the participation of everyone in order to bring it all to life.

“The whole idea is to not only bring in a world class headliner, but to also give local djs a chance for networking and to give them as much exposure as possible to help them develop to be as great as they aspire to be. I ask my local djs who they want to play in front of and I make it happen. In doing so, it enables us to become one big moving unit that works together. We are a forced to be reckoned with.”
