Baseball
The Blue Raider baseball team has had a horrible start to their season, racking up a 5-13 record. “The way our season has been going, we have [had] a very difficult time of stopping anybody from having a big inning,” stated coach Peterson after a home game at Reese Smith Jr. field. Scoring has not been much of a problem this year, but it has been the bull pen that has hurt them the most. Some of that can be contributed to that fact that they are a very young team, and do not have the experience. They have some great home games lined up at the end of April, including games against Vandy, Tennessee Tech and Troy.
Football
The Blue Raiders have announced their 2011 football schedule. It offers Blue Raider fans some great home games including rivals Western Kentucky and Memphis. The Blue Raiders will open their 2011 home schedule by play Georgia Tech on Sept. 10, where they will hold a centennial celebration.
Tennis (Men’s)
The tennis team has had 3 straight wins in the month of March and has already tied their win total from last year with 7. Up coming home matches include DePaul and the Sun Belt Shootout.
Golf (Men’s)
The men’s golf team has been on fire lately, winning 3 straight tournaments. Hunter Green (right) has two individual title victories during that span. They have just two tournaments left before the Sun Belt Championship in Muscle Shoals, AL. The way they have been playing, look for them to do very well coming down the stretch, and even the chance to maybe make some noise in the NCAA in May.
