Bertrand’s Books Shown at City Hall

Artist Jeff Bertrand will be showcasing a brand new series of paintings at the Murfreesboro City Hall Rotunda this August and September.

Entitled “Turn the Page,” the show features art on vintage books from the ’20s, ’30s and ’40s portraying famous classic authors and poets. Paving the way for countless future writers, these influential and timeless figures (including Poe, Hemingway and others) are emblazoned on book covers amongst various shaped cut-outs, nails, colored thread and Bertrand’s signature colorful auras.

Though he has exhibited in numerous shows in town, this will be Bertrand’s first solo show in Murfreesboro. He has a full summer planned with shows across Tennessee and cities such as New Orleans, Asheville and Winston-Salem.

The exhibits of art in the City Hall Rotunda are open to the public at no charge during City Hall’s regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except holidays.
