Ted Drozdowski’s Scissormen are bringing the sounds of the Mississippi Delta and hill county, and beyond, to the Mayday Brewery, 521 Old Salem Road, at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 27.
The band has played Bonnaroo, Memphis in May and other international festivals and is debuting its new trio lineup in a series of area shows. Led by slide guitar player, songwriter and award-winning music journalist Ted Drozdowski, the group recently finished recording a new album to follow up its latest release, the CD+DVD set Big Shoes: Walking and Talking the Blues. The disc reached No. 3 on Sirius/XM Radio’s two-million subscriber B.B. King’s Bluesville channel, and the DVD featured in the set is a full-length documentary by famed roots music filmmaker Robert Mugge that debuted at the Denver Film Festival.
