Benjamin Collier, son of Robert and Joan Collier of Murfreesboro, was recently awarded the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award given in recognition of development of professional excellence by the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association. AAEA is a not-for-profit association serving the professional interests of members working in agricultural and broadly related fields of applied economics.
The presentation was made at the AAEA annual meeting, which brings together agricultural and applied economists from around the world. Dr. Collier graduated from Cedar Hall High School in Christiana and later received his B.A. in Psychology from Asbury College followed by an M.S. in Psychology, M.S. in Economics, and Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Kentucky. He lives with his wife, Brittany, and daughter, Jane, in Pennsylvania, where he is completing a post-doctoral fellowship at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
