Dead Soldiers, hailing from Memphis, will make a Murfreesboro stop on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the Boro Bar and Grill.
The band combines elements of bluegrass, country and rock, and beautifully blends acoustic strings (fiddle, banjo, mandolin, etc.), with a rock band vibe and nice group harmonies (and even some occasional trumpet) for a Tennessee whiskey-soaked, dancin’, mud-trompin’ good time, naturally, haunted by the spirits of dead soldiers.
“Memphis is both the cradle and grave of American music, home of the dance and the dirge,” according to the band’s promotional materials. “Sometimes it sounds like bluegrass, sometimes like honky tonk, sometimes rock, and sometimes soul, but it never sounds grander than when Dead Soldiers are in the trenches, and the troops are plied with whiskey.”
