Bombshells Hair Studio and Spa hosted its sixth annual Charity Fashion Show to benefit the Multiple System Atrophy Coalition on March 22 at Stones River Mall. In addition to the fashion show, the event featured both live and silent auctions coupled with great food and drink, with all proceeds going to the MSA Coalition.
For the past six years, Bombshells owner Michelle Williamson has honored her beloved Riverdale High School softball coach, Bob Summers, and his late wife, Susan Summers, who died in 2012 from multiple system atrophy, by organizing and sponsoring an event to help find a cure for this devastating terminal disease.
Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a neurological disorder associated with the degeneration of nerve cells in specific areas of the brain. This cell degeneration causes problems with movement, balance and other functions of the body.
“We put this event on every year to help keep Susan’s memory alive and to also do something to help further the awareness of MSA and raise funds for research,” Williamson said.
