Local resident Don Wright joins two others from Murfreesboro—John Hood and Bill Ketron—after his induction into the National Exchange Club “Court of Honor” located at the organization’s headquarters in Toledo, Ohio, in October 2018.
The Exchange Clubs of America established the Court of Honor to pay tribute to Exchangites who valiantly uphold and nobly serve the organization and its ideal of “Unity for Service.”
The three wings of the National Exchange Club Headquarters building frame the Court of Honor, established in 1957, and the majestic statue “Birth of the Atomic Age,” created by renowned sculptor Marshall Fredericks, stands in a reflecting pool with fountains; seven large granite pylons display the inscribed names of the inductees.
Wright, along with Hood, are active members of The Exchange Club of Murfreesboro. Ketron is an active member of The Noon Exchange Club of Murfreesboro. Interestingly, all three have served as National President of the service organization; Murfreesboro has had three national Exchange Club presidents within the organization’s 107-year history.
Exchange has programs of service in Americanism, youth activity and community service, and its national project is the prevention of child abuse. For more information about the club, visit nationalexchangeclub.org.
