Arts Center of Cannon County Displays Oliver Langston’s Expression from Visions

The Cannon Hall of the Arts Center of Cannon County will display Expression from Visions, a collection of work by Smyrna artist J. Oliver Langston, through the end of October.

“I paint to create something different . . . not to conform,” Langston says.

The artist uses oils, acrylics and even melted crayons to create his bold landscapes, “paintings that came from the mind’s eye,” as described by the artist.

Langston will be on hand at the gallery for a meet-and-greet from 6:30–7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, and from 1–2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13.

He says he believes that it is important to have fun while creating art and works to grow and promote the art community in Middle Tennessee.

“Art has been a major part of my life since I was a young boy and will be for as long as I am able,” Langston says.
