Go Whole Hog and Help Feed the Hungry

It takes a community to feed a community. That’s the motto for Spring Hill’s The Well Outreach, which will be hosting the John Maher Builders’ Whole Hog Festival on Saturday, Oct. 5, to raise funds for feeding families in need—something the organization has been doing since 2006.

The all-ages, all-day event, offering live music, family fun, food and a 7 p.m. fireworks finale, will kick off (rain or shine) at 10 a.m. on the grounds of the sprawling Tennessee Children’s Home campus (804 Branham Hughes Circle, Spring Hill).

Hit Warner Brothers country duo High Country tops the bill of nine musical acts, a lineup spanning country, rock, Christian and Americana. Also appearing is Adam Warner, whose “Welcome to the South” routinely greets the Tennessee Titans’ visiting opponents. Add in a petting zoo, arts and crafts vendors, circus performers and a hog-calling contest, and you have a mighty nice way to spend a day—and help feed hungry families in Middle Tennessee. Admission is $5, and children 10 or under are admitted free of charge. Food donations are encouraged, and much appreciated.
