Tasty Table and Olive Branch Bakery reopened for dine-in service in February after being closed since summer of 2020. The restaurant closed due to low traffic during the COVID pandemic, temporarily offering catering services from its Church Street building.
“We are open! After a week of snow the sun is shining and it’s a beautiful day,” the business posted via its Facebook page the last week of February.
The restaurant, which serves sandwiches, salads and baked goods, is open Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for dine-in and carryout. Catering is also available Monday through Sunday by appointment.

Pinnacle Financial Partners has demolished the large Pinnacle Bank structure in downtown Murfreesboro. The bank building was built in 1972 and was nearing its 50th anniversary.
The five-story building will be replaced by a two-story banking branch that may take approximately a year to be completed, according to Bill Jones, Pinnacle’s Rutherford County area executive who also leads Pinnacle’s efforts in Bedford County.
Out with the old; in with the new.
The building, which for decades has been a notable part of the downtown Murfreesboro landscape at the corner of Maple and College streets, was built as a Murfreesboro Federal Savings and Loan office, and later became part of Cavalry Banking, which merged with Pinnacle Financial Services in 2006, said Jones, who formerly served as executive vice president and chief administrative officer for Cavalry.

The 13-year-old nonprofit Mindful Care Adult Day Services is looking for a new space. The program has operated out of New Vision Baptist Church since its beginning, but must find a new location by June 30. A post was made on Mindful Care’s Facebook page explaining that the church is expanding its programs and would like to use the space that Mindful Care currently occupies.
“They have been wonderfully generous over the years,” said Tom Tozer, Mindful Care board president.
The program serves as an adult day care for the elderly and provides a sort of “best friends” approach. Mindful Care serves people above the age of 55 who have encountered problems while aging, including early to mild dementia, Alzheimer’s and other challenges. The program provides individuals with constructive activities including music therapy.
“It might be a commercial space, but a costly lease would be out of the question. A church in Rutherford County, one with unused space during the week, might be the solution. Any facility and location will be considered,” Tozer said.
Ideally, the organization could utilize 2,000 square feet of handicapped-accessible space on a ground floor.
Those with a facility in mind that might work for the organization can contact Tozer at 615-653-6209 or ttozer@comcast.net.
