Spring-loaded with free festivities, Fountains at Gateway hosts a Spring Kickoff event. The open-air community event will have live music, craft vendors, food trucks, local artist displays, a petting zoo (perhaps featuring some floppy-eared friends) and other such tiskets and taskets for your Easter baskets on Friday, April 16, from 5–8 p.m.
But what’s an Easter basket without grass? The Billboard-charting bluegrass band Breaking Grass will be on hand to entertain and put a groove in your step. The popular “grass” blowers thrive upon influences ranging from rock, country, gospel and soul with original material described as energetic, exciting contemporary bluegrass. Let’s not forget, grass can be cutting edge. In 2019 the celebrated the release of its album Cold.
Currently putting together a new album project, the band seems excited to have a live show planned and recently posted: “Our first show for 2021 is on the books and we would love for you to be there. Fountains at Gateway is a beautiful, family-friendly spot . . . bring your friends and enjoy the evening!”
Fountains at Gateway will also host a movie under the stars the following night, April 17.
