The Watertown Jazzfest returns to the historic Watertown, Tennessee, Square on Saturday, July 17 for a full day of jazz music, food and fun.
2021 Performers Include:
1 p.m. – Music City Swing
Music City Swing is a 21-piece band with a mission: preserving America’s great WWII-era music exactly as it was played back then.
2 p.m. – Nightingale Big Band
The Nightingale Big Band is a group of musicians consisting primarily of college graduates representing MTSU and Cumberland University.
3 p.m. – The Cumberland University Alumni Jazz Band
The Cumberland University Alumni Jazz Band consists of both former and current students of Cumberland University.
4 p.m. – The Boro Red Hot Jazz Majors
The Boro Red Hot Jazz Majors represent a core of talented students from MTSU led by trumpeter and Director of Jazz Studies Jamey Simmons.
5 p.m. – The Jazz Alliance
The Jazz Alliance is a 19-member big band jazz ensemble based out of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.
6 p.m. – Darryl Glenn Nettles
Darryl Glenn Nettles, a native of New York, was granted a doctorate of vocal performance and literature from the University of Illinois in Urban-Champaign.
7 p.m. – Jerry Krahn’s Fat Tuesday Dixieland Jazz Band
Guitarist/banjoist Jerry Krahn is no stranger to traditional New Orleans jazz and Dixieland music.
8 p.m. – The Vantrease Jazz Band
A truly homegrown act, the Vantrease Jazz band, headed by brothers Earl and Ernest Vantrease, will hit the stage at 8 p.m.
9 p.m. – Bob McChesney and Calabria Foti with the Nashville Jazz Orchestra
The Nashville Jazz Orchestra will be accompanying Watertown Jazzfest headliners Bob McChesney and Calabria Foti.
