Described as a new family-friendly music festival, Lifest Music City stems from Lifest Oshkosh, one of the nation’s largest Christian music festivals, and the organization is excited to bring its “Party With a Purpose” to Middle Tennessee as the end of July approaches (July 29–31, to be exact). Local radio stations WayFM, K-Love and 94 FM The Fish are all among the Lifest partners.
Among the mainstage featured artists scheduled to appear are Danny Gokey, Newsboys, Joe Nichols (whose new single “Home Run” is currently climbing the country charts), Michael W. Smith, Matthew West, Mandisa, Lecrae, Leanna Crawford, Jamie Kimmett, Skillet, Sidewalk Prophets, I Am They, Colton Dixon and Ledger. However, approximately 15–20 other artists will also play on various stages throughout each day. A daily schedule of activities and performances, photos and links to more individual artist information is available on lifest.com.
As a Lifer, guests will be privy to not only some great music, but also illusionists, speakers, seminars and comedians. Not to mention the fact that happy campers will get to pitch their tent at Hideaway Farm, a former home of Johnny Cash. Plus there will be archery, worship around a bonfire, bounce houses and a kidzone complete with music of its own as well as games, crafts, and more entertainment.
Tickets start at $32, with a $16 youth rate (ages 8–15) and many tiers above and beyond, dependent upon stage, camping, and meet-and-greet options. The Grandstand Meet and Greet is $40 per day and lets you live your best life with complimentary water, a charge station and an opportunity to meet your favorite Grandstand artists (space is limited). There is even an onstage seating add-on purchase (offered either by day or for the full event).
“You can’t get any closer to the performance unless you join the band!” boasts the seating description.
Both Lifest Oshkosh and Lifest Music City are presented by Life Promotions, a nonprofit organization focused on instilling hope in youth. Founder and President Bob Lenz is featured each year as a keynote speaker at Lifest and is available year-round to speak at schools, community outreach, churches, conferences, retreats or other events. More than 500,000 people are impacted by Life Promotions programs each year.
