After a two-year hiatus, Bonnaroo came back with a bang! Festival goers were not deterred by the overbearing Thursday heat and still came out to enjoy artists like The Brook & The Bluff and Gryffin. One fan mentioned that Andy Frasco & the U.N’s late-night set was the “most entertaining concert [they’ve] ever attended.”
Following an evacuation due to a potential storm that never came, Friday afternoon brought an electric performance from “A-O-K” singer Tai Verdes, and progressive country music icons The Chicks (formerly the Dixie Chicks) graced us with their presence that same night.
Saturday brought amazing vocal performances from Teddy Swims and Patrick Droney. All Time Low rocked out the What Stage in the summer heat, a throwback to 2007 for many of us, followed by some rap from 21 Savage. The night crowd enjoyed music from Tool and danced along to CHVRCHES’ set.
On Sunday, you could tell that many attendees were giving their everything to the festival and few wanted it to end. So much dancing, so much partying and so much laughter, all day long. The multi-talented Tash Sultana impressed with her multi-instrumental abilities, crafting compositions on the stage before the audience’s very eyes, using loop pedals. Machine Gun Kelly and his entire band stole the show for many with a killer theatrical performance filled with so much energy and connection to the crowd.
The final artist of the festival, the long-awaited Stevie Nicks, did not disappoint, either. It was something else to hear the sounds of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” drifting through the farm, a perfect way to end a hot, fun-filled four days at Bonnaroo 2022.
