The Rutherford County Long-Term Recovery Group continues to assess remaining disaster-related needs arising from the April 1, 2023, EF-2 tornado with 130-mile-per-hour winds that devastated portions of the Readyville community.
The group seeks to provide recovery services for survivors of the tornado who have exhausted all other avenues of assistance or are without insurance.
The group is comprised of representatives from local nonprofits and faith groups who came together to assist Rutherford County residents affected by the storms. Caseworkers from the Tennessee Western Kentucky United Methodist Church Disaster Recovery team have partnered with the LTRG to identify local tornado recovery needs.
Survivors in need of help can call the Helpline at 615-270-9255 or request help via twkumc.org/disaster-recovery (click on red “Survivor Portal” button).
Caseworkers will respond to Helpline calls and the Survivor Portal inquiries within two business days. Calls and inquiries are handled in the strictest confidence. The caseworker will identify program eligibility and facilitate the required resources.
Other Rutherford County LTRG collaborators include the American Red Cross, Lutheran Disaster Response, First United Methodist Church Murfreesboro, Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity, Rutherford County Library System and Greenhouse Ministries.
This group of faith-based, nonprofit, volunteer and government agencies say they will advocate to see all Rutherford County residents fully recovered from the April 1 disaster.
