Murfreesboro Songwriter Tim James Plays Hop Springs July 20, Celebrates New Book Release

Find some relief from the heat up the gravel road at Hop Springs, where local composer/performer Tim James is set to play on July 20.

Known best for penning country songs including “Give It All We Got Tonight” (recorded by George Strait), the treasured Toby Keith hit (written by James with Rand Bishop) “My List,” “Love Like Crazy” (Lee Brice), “All I Ask For Anymore” (Trace Adkins), among oh-so many more, the acclaimed Grammy nominee and No. 1 writer goes to show the venue isn’t the only crafter in town.

Very likely, he will be giving it all he’s got (no pressure though).

Speaking of spirited summer-timers, none other than “Summertime” singer himself Kenny Chesney has recently added to James’ many reasons to celebrate recording credits with “One More Sunset.” Chances are, Chesney will show the new tune off when he rolls through Nissan Stadium on his Sun Goes Down tour.

James can thank George Strait for another one on the way with the recording of “Honky Tonk Hall of Fame,” featuring Chris Stapleton—a track co-written with Stapleton and Jameson Clark included on Strait’s to-be-released project Cowboys and Dreamers.

Of special note on the evening’s agenda at Hop Springs, James plans to perform a special set of Toby Keith tunes in tribute to his late friend.

The Murfreesboro native James has also recently completed a longer form writing project, a published book! His adventurous memoir Going Crazy (Left Foot, Right Foot, Breathe), with a foreword by Toby Keith, will be available for purchase and signing at the show.

James begins each chapter of the book with a song verse to portray his state of mind in setting up each story.

Tim James plays Hop Springs on Saturday, July 20, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance, available through TicketWeb, or $20 at the door. Hop Springs is located at 6790 John Bragg Hwy., Murfreesboro.
