Britain’s YUNGBLUD Has Arrived on the World’s Power Rock Scene

British star YUNGBLUD proved rock’s next great wave is here with a sold-out September show at Atlanta’s Tabernacle. Before stepping onstage, he posted a challenge—“Atlanta I’m feelin’ wild … I want you loud tonight”—and the fans more than delivered. They packed the venue clad in fishnets, heavy eye makeup and punky outfits, a lively, predominantly female crowd spanning generations and answering the performer’s call to be loud.

Onstage, YUNGBLUD brought so much energy it was almost unreal, leaping from risers, darting across the stage and pulling the crowd into every shout and chorus. Each song kept reigniting the audience’s fire, from anthems like “Lowlife” to new fan favorite “Zombie.”

He performed an emotional cover of “Changes”—an ode to Ozzy Osbourne that YUNGBLUD has included in his sets ever since performing the song at Ozzy’s farewell concert in Birmingham, England.

When the lights finally went down, the night was far from over. Hundreds of fans crowded the stage door, surging forward to interact with Dom Harrison, a.k.a. YUNGBLUD. Known for the way he respects and loves his fans, the artist, though visibly tired, generously shared his time, snapping selfies, signing bodies, even planting quick kisses on fans’ cheeks. Security struggled to keep order while everyone waited for him, but Dom patiently made his way through the crowd, promising to return to Atlanta next year.

Days later, YUNGBLUD carried that same fire to the MTV Video Music Awards, delivering a powerful tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne alongside Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry and Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt. Their performance became one of the night’s most talked-about moments, honoring the heavy-metal legend’s legacy. Dom’s music, a mix of emo urgency and classic rock grandeur—think My Chemical Romance collides with Queen—already feels built for stadiums, and Atlanta’s sold-out night hinted that those bigger stages are coming soon.
