Brooks Herring Band, Shelby Raye Hit Hop Springs on May 14

If you’re drawn to raw country music that leans a little into a rock edge, mark your calendar for Thursday, May 14, when Hop Springs Beer Park will be hosting a night headlined by Brooks Herring, a now-Nashville-based singer-songwriter gaining attention for his gritty blend of country, alt-rock and blues.

A U.S. Navy veteran hailing from South Carolina, Herring brings his unique life experience to his songwriting, with themes of resilience, loss, personal growth and conviction—the battles many have fought and the healing still being sought. Whether performing stripped-down acoustic sets or fronting a high-energy full band—which he will bring to Murfreesboro this May—his shows are built around storytelling and emotional connection as much as musicianship.

Opening the evening is Shelby Raye, another emerging voice with roots in the Carolinas. After going viral and then fighting her way back from a life-threatening health battle, Raye carries country in her bones, soul in her tone, and a spirit that never backs down.

Two South Carolina-raised storytellers, one night.

The May 14 show begins at 7 p.m.; find tickets for the Brooks Herring Band at Hop Springs on Ticketweb. Hop Springs is located at 6790 John Bragg Hwy.
