Third Party Thieves Play Aug. 7 Friday Night Live Before Mixtape Closes 2026 Series

Main Street Murfreesboro’s Friday Night Live concert series continues with free live music on the Murfreesboro Public Square, featuring Third Party Thieves on Aug. 7 and Mixtape – ’80s Tribute Band on Sept. 25.

Concerts are held from 6:30–9:30 p.m. just to the side of the Rutherford County Courthouse.

The Friday, Aug. 7, performance features Third Party Thieves, a Tennessee-based cover band known for a fun range spanning multiple decades playing music from artists ranging from Tom Petty, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and the Rolling Stones to White Stripes, Merle Haggard and Luke Combs, designed to appeal to fans of both classic guitar-driven rock and contemporary country.

The 2026 series concludes Sept. 25 with Mixtape – ’80s Tribute Band. The group’s setlists regularly feature arena-rock and pop classics from bands including Journey, Bon Jovi, REO Speedwagon, Van Halen, Huey Lewis & the News, Toto, Bryan Adams and many more. Local fans of Mixtape report its high-energy performances are nostalgic trips through the 1980s including faithful recreations of the era’s biggest hits and lots of audience participation.
