I would advise anyone to look into what Google Voice can do before giving any money to the phone company, or a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) company, even.
Sure, the trade off is that Google has all of your data, phone conversations and texts, but Google has most of our information anyway. We may as well use their free phone, calendar, search, document hosting, reader, e-mail and other services.
It looks like it will be a great Super Bowl matchup between two legendary squads with great tradition and legacy.
I appreciate each network giving Phil Simms and Troy Aikman the calls on their respective championship games. I’ve felt for the past couple of seasons those two are the best in the football broadcasting game.
They both bring some credibility to the table, seem to truly love the game, don’t get caught up in hype some other non-athletes do, and you actually learn something about football when they’re on the mic.
If you see a little two-foot-tall moosehead running around town, please watch out for him. Jr.’s brown winter hat, complete with antlers, has taught him about keeping his ears warm when outdoors during cold weather, and both friends and strangers seem to love it. He’s a little explorer, but we must teach him it’s a big crazy world out there and to look both ways before tearing off through a parking lot like a wild moose.
I hear many ’Boro-ites are concerned about the potential destruction of the Red Rose Dairy building on College Street.
Hey, I’ve seen shows there during the coffee house glory days, but in this case of a community’s desire vs. an individual’s freedom, I may have to side with the individual. Isn’t the thrust behind the local Islamic Center debate that a property owner can do as he pleases with his property, within the confines of the law?
If it were financially viable for a coffee and record shop to make it at that location, someone would be running it. Yeah, the Red Rose was great, but just because The Features played there doesn’t necessarily make it a historical site that should be protected.
Okay, I know, the high price of movie theater concessions is a way of life, a ridiculous 1,000 percent markup not even worth discussing most of the time. But there is relief! Upon a recent trip to the theater I was informed a Coca-Cola and popcorn constituted a value combo, earning the lady and me a nice $2 discount.
“$15.50,” the guy behind the counter says.
“Man,” I think. “Are you sure you’re not losing money on that deal? I almost feel wrong taking it for that price. Will the theater be able to survive? Maybe we should just keep it at $17.50 so I feel OK about it.”
