Ropes, reins, hooves, dirt, manure, sweat, clowns, horses, leather, fear and anticipation were all very real elements inundating Miller Colosseum on Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro March 9 – 10. It was not only a good time, but also a benefit event to fund over 50 youth-related activities and programs.
Ropers and riders gathered from all over the Southeast to compete in the exciting action of the Lone Star World Championship Rodeo. With cattle rustling and bull riding, the rodeo sparked moments of intense excitement as wranglers competed for the best times in many events.
And what rodeo would be complete without the sometimes funny, sometimes stale, but always present, entertaining comedy antics of the rodeo clown. Though not as many people attended as I had hoped, it was certainly a great night to spend with the family for a not so ordinary weekend.
