Bobby and Rusty Howard host trivia nights at Coach's, Nobody's and Riverstone

Are you looking for a challenge, maybe a little extra cash or to just get out and have a good time? Get some friends together and put on your thinking caps because Murfreesboro has many different establishments that run a live trivia night complete with prizes. The questions can come from anywhere, be it sports, movies, music, literature or pop culture, so to build your team to win it’s important to diversify both the ages and the interests of your teammates. Most places offer gift certificates for the top three teams; other places have giveaways for a clever team name, but win or lose, all places have great specials on trivia night!

3 Brothers Deli & Brewhouse—223 West Main St.: Hosted by Seth Tidwell on Mondays at 7 p.m.. Expect a typical trivia game of progressive difficulty covering subjects such as history and music, but watch out for those word association questions! The prizes for winning include $20, $15 and $10 gift certificates. 3 Brothers has a special that evening where you can get a pitcher of Yuengling Lager and 12 wings for only $12.99.

Coach’s—127 SE Broad St.: Hosted by Bobby and Rusty Howard on Tuesdays at 7 p.m.. Coach’s specials for the evening include their boneless wings for $4.99 and $3.50 Long Island Teas. The prizes for winning are a $15, $10 or $5 gift certificate for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively. The style of this game is pop trivia, and Rusty does his own research and writes the questions.

Coconut Bay—210 Stones River Mall Blvd.: Hosted by Willy Funk on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. This trivia night offers a back and forth comedic relationship with the host and tournaments every 6 weeks (four people won a trip to the Bahamas last time). Coconut Bay has $5 pitchers till 10 p.m. and a pizza with a pitcher special for only $10.99. For entering trivia, there is a ticket raffle with prizes ranging from a high five (which I won) to promotional items from the vendors. For winning the game you can win a $20 gift certificate or big prizes such as tents, beer signs or other promotional items including gag gifts from Spencer’s. There is also a $20 cash prize for best team name.

Old Chicago—1835 Old Fort Pkwy.: Hosted by Seth Tidwell on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. What makes this trivia night unique are the great specials that Old Chicago has to offer such as $1.99 Long Island and Blue Raider teas, $2.99 mini appetizers, $1.99 well drinks and $1.99 pints. There are two live trivia games with the prizes being $25 gift certificate for 1st place, a large pizza with your choice of toppings for 2nd place and a $10 gift certificate for 3rd place.

The Boulevard—1202 E Main Street: Hosted by MTSU professor Edward Friz Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. The host is a people person with good charisma, and he makes an effort to get to know each of the teams competing. For trivia night, The Boulevard has 2-for-1 drafts of Natural Ice and the prizes for winning include $15, $10 and $5 gift certificates.

Nobody’s BBQ—116 John Rice Blvd.: Hosted by Bobby and Rusty on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.. Nobody’s offers many specials on this night such as half-priced wings, 2-for-1 well drinks, beer buckets for $10.99 and 2-for-1 margaritas for $9.99. The prizes for winning are a $15, $10 or $5 gift certificate for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Buffalo Wild Wings—207 Stones River Mall Blvd., #B: This game is hosted by Edward Friz Wednesdays at 6 p.m. This game draws a crowd and offers a very competitive atmosphere. Professor Friz writes the games and the questions asked are quite challenging. Buffalo Wild Wings offers all domestic beers for $3, and the prizes for winning are a $15, $10 or $5 gift certificate for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Mellow Mushroom—2955 South Rutherford Blvd: Hosted by the in-house team of Greg Pryor and Haley Williams on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. This trivia game offers the Mellow Mushroom’s unique atmosphere and 118 different beers to choose from. The specials for the evening include $2 off any of 37 different draft specials from 5–8 p.m., after 9 p.m. all drafts are $3 as well as $2 pizza slices and ½ price munchies. For winning, the 1st 3-round winner receives house prizes or a $10 gift certificate while the grand prize winner goes home with $50 house cash.

Hooters—1310 NW Broad St.: Hosted by Mitch Keeling, an associate of Seth Tidwell, on Thursdays at 7 p.m. This trivia game offers the unique, friendly atmosphere that only Hooter’s can provide. The specials for the evening include Corona at only $12.99 for 5 bottles, happy hour from 3–6 p.m. and 9 p.m.–close, ½ price appetizers, $1.50 domestic drinks and fried jalapenos for $5.99. The prizes for winning include 50 free wings for 1st place as well as special promotional items from the vendors.

Riverstone Saloon—2146 N Thompson Lane: Hosted by Bobby and Rusty on Thursdays at 7 p.m. Riverstone offers $2 longnecks and $3 well drinks. The payout for winning this game is also a little higher than other venues with a $25, $15 or $10 gift certificate for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Wall Street—121 North Maple St.: This trivia game is run by a company out of Nashville known as Trivia Time and will not be running again until school starts in the fall. Expect the return of Wall Street trivia by the second week of school with games on Thursdays at 8 p.m. Wall Street has pitchers for only $6 that evening, and the prizes for winning include bar cash, giveaways from vendors and pitchers for the best team names.
