The recent climate conference in Bali, Indonesia, was really no different from any other climate conference. The agenda is the same: make wealthy nations like the United States pay for the pollution of third-world nations like China.
Brazil and Indonesia even want the wealthy nations to pay them not to chop down their own forests. This whole climate change/global warming scam has gotten out of hand and it’s time we put our foot down.
There was a report out recently that showed the U.S. has actually reduced its so-called greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 1.5 percent. Meanwhile, all these third-world nations like China are spewing emissions to beat the band. But they want us to pay. Why? Because most of the wealthier nations are just that gullible.
Their gullibility is born of guilt. Many in the U.S. and other developed nations are actually embarrassed of our success. I’ve noticed a pattern, though. Many of those who feel guilty that we’re such a developed nation are those who acquired their wealth through little work of their own.
You see, we’re the most advanced society in the history of the planet. Poor to most countries is not having clean water. Poor to us is not having a cell phone.
Here’s the basic problem. The radical environmentalists have latched onto this notion that CO2 is bad. Over the years, we have retooled our factories and cars to turn deadly emissions like carbon monoxide into harmless carbon dioxide. Nations like China and India still spew massive amounts of smog-causing pollutants into the air yet these environmental confabs completely ignore those emissions. It’s harmless CO2 they’re focusing on because we’ve found a way to convert our dirty emissions to CO2.
Now, they’re going a step further. Not only are we the bogeyman of the world because of our CO2 emissions, we’re somehow responsible for them cutting down their own trees. One looney group in Indonesia has figured up how much we owe them based on the trees the Indonesians have yet to cut down. It’s $135.5 billion! It’s like environmental mobsters. “Pay us the money or the tree gets it.”
We hear all the time from these folks at the UN that we’re the No. 1 producer of CO2. Perhaps, but need I remind you again that CO2 is what plants use to make oxygen. It is not a poison nor pollutant. But we’re also No. 1 in the world in gross domestic product. GDP is a way of measuring a country’s productivity. In fact, our GDP is more than the next four countries behind us combined. We’re second in the world in permanent cropland, first in cotton exports and second in corn production. We are the most giving people on earth, over twice as generous as the second most giving nation, Great Britain. We’re third in those seeking asylum from oppressed countries. Only England and Germany beat us in the asylum category and that’s merely because of their close proximity to oppressed nations.
We’re now considering building a fence, not to keep people in but to keep all those who want to come here illegally out. How many other nations on earth are so many people literally dying to get into?
I don’t know about you but I’m sick and tired of showing up at these conferences only to have these whiney little nations standing there with their hands out.
Make no mistake about it. This global warming scam is all about redistributing the world’s wealth. Don’t fall for it.
