Week 2 of the regular season is history, and my team, the Titans, is looking like a playoff team. Anyone who wants to disagree, look at the so-called powerhouses of the AFC, a lot of those teams are struggling.
Congrats to Mr. Smelly Collins?Tennessee ’s finally got a QB who knows how to manage a game. The Titans are 2-0, and while a hurt, recovering, so-they-say disturbed Young isn’t present, I honestly believe the knowledgeable fans of Tennessee football aren’t too upset.
Look, I was the first to go out and purchase that No. 10 jersey and was loving the play of a rookie Vince Young. He was fast, exciting, game changing, a new breed of quarterback. Let’s be honest, though, with the current Young taking snaps it seems the defense, the run game and the kicking game are all superior compared to his recent productivity.
Kerry Collins is by no means a great quarterback. Though, he is a veteran who doesn’t throw picks and manages a football game well under Heimerdinger’s scheme.
The Train believes we should start Collins every game from here on out, or until a serious problem occurs. The fresh legs of Chris Simms is also a good option if need be.
After the poor play of Young, and his psychological breakdown, he should be treated like a rookie and, once again should have to prove himself to the organization, the fans and most importantly, himself. I really hope to see a complete turnaround with Mr. Young; I want to see him overcome all this bad press. He has the talent to be a franchise QB, he just has much more to learn than we thought after drafting him. This isn’t college ball, you just can’t overpower, outrun and so-so throw the football.
My MVP pick so far this season would have to be the Packers’ Aaron Rodgers. My defensive MVP pick is Courtland Finnegan. The best all-around defense is the Tennessee Titans?hands down.
Just a little tidbit, last time the Titans started 2-0 they went to the Super Bowl. Are you ready?
