We Crumbled
Shock rang the marrow in our bones
As someone said
“They just ran a plane into the World Trade Center.”
Woefully we pondered
Who “they” were
As terror struck the
second tower
Reverence Crumbling
A new definition of silence
Was born that day
Our faces wrapped in
confusion
Yielding clusters of dismay
We hoisted on our book
bags
And went our separate
ways
The Color of Boredom
The color of boredom, neutral gray drowns my brain
My thirst is intense
Give me entertainment
Happiness,
Stimulate my breath with
something
Anything to quench my
lusting thirst
Challenge me with the
intellect of another
All that surrounds me is
poisoned by
Neutrality?doused in gray
Thrust at me emotions and
let me boil
In anticipation, incessant
amusement,
Perpetual intrigue, and allow me to cool
In unconditional love
Curse passion to arise
Rise up my passionate friends
Join with me
Feel with me
And one day
In peace
Our love will reign
