The Big Bang dueling piano bar recently announced the planned opening of its second Tennessee location in downtown Murfreesboro. The bar, which will feature live dueling pianos Thursday through Saturday, is scheduled to open mid-September in the old Social event space at 114 N. Church St.
The Big Bang opened its first Tennessee location in 2007 on Broadway in downtown Nashville. The Nashville location has since become a favorite entertainment destination among locals, tourists and convention groups. With an additional location in Columbus, Ohio, Murfreesboro makes the third location for The Big Bang.
“We’re so excited to be coming to Murfreesboro,” says Managing Partner Sam Leatherwood. “We’ve had so many Murfreesboro people come to visit us at The Big Bang on Broadway in Nashville that we decided it was time for us to bring The Big Bang to them. Murfreesboro has become a small city but kept its hometown feel, and that fits right in with The Big Bang mentality.”

The Big Bang is not the average piano bar. The dueling piano concept features two grand pianos on stage played by a rotating group of entertainers who combine song requests with comedy and audience participation to create a truly unique entertainment experience. Entertainers take turns on drums, bass and guitar throughout the night. Audiences can expect to hear almost every genre of music from classic rock and country to modern pop and ’80s classics. This place rocks every night with a high-energy show that has audiences singing, dancing and laughing all night long.
“The Big Bang is all about people from all walks of life getting together to enjoy live music, good fun and great food with their friends,” says Leatherwood’s partner Meredyth Muller. “It’s definitely a casual, feel-good kind of place. The Big Bang Murfreesboro will feature a full-service bar and craft kitchen menu with happy hour and drink specials nightly, as well as party packages for special occasions such as birthdays, graduations, bachelorette parties, corporate groups, high school reunions, alumni events and more.
