MC Dan and the Sonic Fix: George W. Bush Is Not A Terrorist

Rating: 1 Pulse

MC Dan & The Sonic Fix’s George W. Bush Is Not a Terrorist album is every bit as ridiculous as the title. The title track consists of halfway-normal backing music, sound samples from ol’ Georgie, and vocals reminiscent of “South Park’s” Mr. Mackie. Repeat after me, “drugs are bad. Mmmkay?!” Actually, I think the world would be a much happier place if we all had the drugs Dan and company were on when recording this album.

Unfortunately, I think they smoked all of the pot of by the end of the last track “Dancing With the Leprechauns.” The song’s lyrics Go Lucky, it’s your birthday were overpowered by the magic flute.

The album mentions multiple times that Tim needs a girlfriend. Well, I’m not sure who Tim is, but I can pretty much guarantee he is never going to get laid if he keeps contributing to “music” of this nature. Tim might want to call up his local Sugar ’N Spice representative and invest in a pocket pussy. If you watch NASCAR to see the car wrecks, you would probably really enjoy this CD. For the rest of us, it is proof that not everyone needs a computer with Pro Tools.

On a positive note, every song did have interesting uses of samples. Probably stolen samples. By the end of the third or fourth track, I was laughing so hard I was crying. Unfortunately, I listened to the CD later on to see if it had the same effect, but alas, the novelty had worn off. I’m not sure if I can call MC Dan’s work music, but it definitely is entertainment for at least the first listen.
